Mohamad A. Bitar, MD, FACS is a Consultant and Head of the Department of Otolaryngology Head & Neck Surgery at Al Jalila Children’s Specialty Hospital, Dubai,UAE. Dr Bitar is fellowship trained in Pediatric Otolaryngology at the Children's National Medical Center & the George Washington University School of Medicine, Washington, DC. He is a fellow of the American College of Surgeons and the Royal Society of Medicine (London); and a member of several international specialty societies including; the American Society of Pediatric Otolaryngology, and the American Academy of Pediatrics.

Dr Bitar established the discipline of Pediatric Otolaryngology at the American University of Beirut Medical Center in 2002, which he headed till 2013. He then joined the staff of the Department of ENT Surgery at the Children Hospital at Westmead (Royal Alexandra Hospital for Children) , Sydney, Australia during the years 2013 and 2014; and became Honorary Associate at the Sydney Medical School at University of Sydney to teach Medical Students and Conduct Clinical Research.

Dr Bitar has been a member of several university / medical board committees for improvement of teaching and medical services at the American University of Beirut. As an Assistant and then Associate Professor, Dr Bitar has been involved in teaching and research in the field of Pediatric Otolaryngology and has published many articles pertinent to his field. He has also participated in several national, regional and international meetings and workshops and is an active member of several medical societies. He is an active reviewer of several prestigious medical journals and a member of the editorial board of specialty journals.

Dr Bitar’s expertise includes, Pediatric Airway Endoscopic and Open Surgery, Management of Hearing Loss, Ear Surgeries including Tympanoplasty, Mastoidectomy and Implanting Hearing Devices (e.g. Cochlear Implants), Excision of Benign Neck Masses, Medical and Surgical Management of Sinonasal Disorders; in addition to Management of General Pediatric Otolaryngology disorders.
